Here's our story...

Once upon a time we asked our lovely residents...

Can you knit, craft, crochet or sew?

We would like to create a poppy cascade to commemorate the WW1 centenary, made by members of the Duston Community

The cascade will be displayed during November at St Luke's Centre on the corner of Millway for all to enjoy

You can follow the patterns available or design your own; all that we ask is that you keep to the iconic red. If you can create weather proof poppies using any other method that's fine too

We'd like as many people as possible to get involved by encouraging groups, schools and individuals to join in. We can take poppies right up to mid October.

We will need help to fix the poppies - if this is something you would like to volunteer for then please contact us to register your interest.

Please contact us directly to let us know how you would like to get involved

Local knitting group 'knit-wits' getting us off to a flying start

Here is a pattern to help or you can use your own

You can drop your completed poppies off at Duston Community Centre during opening hours right up until October- pick up a label or make your own as we would like to acknowledge all contributors in our book
