Grants to help create a cleaner and greener Northampton

Northampton charity and community-led environmental initiatives can now apply for a funding boost from the EnviroGrant scheme.

Thousands of properties in Northampton to move onto wheeled bin waste and recycling collections

Approximately 3,000 properties, identified by Northampton Borough Council and Veolia as having room to store wheeled bins off the streets, will be moving onto wheeled bin waste and recycling collections over the next few weeks.

New Play Equipment

This year we have made installed new play and gym equipment in various parks across Duston.

Triumph Garden Play Area was repainted and a new slide featured. A new play feature was also added. The two old bins were replaced with nice new ones. The old sign which was out of date was also removed.

Errington Park had new play equipment but also 7 pieces of outdoor gym equipment. An old bin next to the MUGA... Read More »

A working party was set up by Councillors to look at Estate Management Fees on Freehold properties. The report came up with a number of recommendations which have been adopted.

Government lays unitary legislation before Parliament

Government legislation required to create two new unitary councils in Northamptonshire has been laid before Parliament.

The document, known as the Northamptonshire Structural Changes Order 2019 (SCO), sets out how the two new unitary authorities will be formed to replace the existing eight councils on 1 April 2021.

Formal consultation on proposed Town Council for Northampton

Northampton Borough Council is consulting with the public over proposals for a Town Council to cover some parts or all of the existing borough.

Dangers of carrying knives to be highlighted on ambulances

The dangers of carrying knives will be highlighted on the sides of ambulances as part of the ongoing 'Save Lives No Knives' awareness campaign.

Posters are being installed on the sides of twelve East Midlands Ambulance Service vehicles over the next couple of weeks with the aim of deterring young people from carrying knives.
